Sustainable impact
What matters to us is being able to create impact that’s sustainable and long-lasting. To achieve this, we subscribe to the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs) which aim to transform our world by addressing gender, social, economic and environmental issues.
We focus on 5 goals in particular to create the greatest impact.
What we believe is that life is about more than returns. It’s about achieving a balance between realising financial hopes and dreams, and creating sustainable impact for future generations.
To do this, we’ve chosen to focus our efforts on creating impact using SDGs that aligned to our values, much in the same way that all the SDGs are aligned to The United Nations General Assembly goal of transforming the world by 2030.
End poverty in all its forms everywhere.
By providing access to quality education and job opportunities, we make our contribution to addressing the high unemployment rate in South Africa, ultimately reducing poverty in the surrounding areas of our national parks.
Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
To further promote and drive greater gender equality, we support initiatives and businesses that employee from local communities, have a majority female workforce and who are focused on up-skilling young female adults.
Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt biodiversity loss.
In a world where 30% of all animals are endangered and extinct, we believe the poaching of rhinos to be a symbol of humankind’s destructive force. We identify innovative ways where groups can work together to meet conservation challenges, protecting the rhino and other endangered species from extinction, and ensuring the sustainability of South Africa’s tourism industry.
Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
By providing grants for local school-leavers, community members will be educated to both work within & setup businesses that serve the tourism economy. This will improve livelihoods whilst equipping community members to make better informed decisions regarding preservation of the environment.
Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
Our education and employment partners work closely with community-based natural resource management and local economic development initiatives. We believe this will create purposeful job creation resulting in economic growth and opportunities for the next generation of rural South Africans.

Here are some of the ways we’re creating purposeful impact through investments.
AMPLIFY AND THE GOOD WORK FOUNDATION
South Africa has an alarmingly high youth unemployment rate. It’s an issue that matters and demands impact. This is why we partner directly with the Good Work Foundation, contributing to its education initiatives that aim to deliver 21st-century digital learning opportunities which create access, opportunity and employability for rural and marginalised communities.
EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT
Through our contribution, we are able to provide grants to young community members around the Greater Kruger National Park, enabling them to grow real, tangible skills that can help them pursue career and employment opportunities.
AMPLIFYING THE TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY
Another such opportunity is in hospitality through the foundation’s Travel and Tourism Academy, which offers CATHSETA certified courses that connect young rural South Africans with significant opportunities in the growing industry of wildlife tourism.
Amplifying the technology industry
One such opportunity is in the IT field through the foundation’s ICT Academy, which offers an MICT certified one-year certificate that provides a variety of valuable, real-world skills in one of today’s fastest-growing industries.
AMPLIFY AND SANPARKS’
ENVIRONMENTAL CRIME
INVESTIGATION (ECI) UNIT
Environmental crime is threatening the survival of key species, causing uncontrollable damage to natural habitats and is increasingly compromising community safety.
To combat this, Amplify has partnered with SANParks’ ECI, a specialist unit whose specific focus is on rhino-related safety in the greater Kruger National and abalone and tourist-related safety in the Cape region.
CONSERVATION
Preserving our environment for future generations is extremely important to us. We support conservation initiatives that focus on protecting and saving wildlife, and uplifting the communities living alongside these conservation areas.
SAVING OUR RHINOS
Decimated by poaching and near extinction, the rhino is a symbol of the urgent and important need for wildlife conservation. Which is why we provide financial support to SANParks’ ECI unit to actively monitor, protect and secure this population.
